5 Stappen om je FMCG-Merk te Lanceren op TikTok Shop Nederland

TikTok Shop launched in the Netherlands in 2026. Most FMCG brands are still watching from the sidelines. This is the action plan to move first — from zero to live in under 2 weeks.

Zoek minimaal 50 creators in jouw categorie via TikTok Creator Marketplace of handmatig.

Before You Start: The Two Non-Negotiables

Two things must be true before any of the 5 steps will work:

  • Positive unit economics. Run this: Price − COGS − 6% TikTok fee − 12% creator commission − €3 fulfilment. If the result is positive, you have a viable margin. If not, fix pricing before launching.
  • A visually demonstrable product. TikTok is video. Your product needs a hook a creator can show in 10–15 seconds: a transformation, a texture, a before/after, a taste reaction. If the product is invisible in video, the channel will underperform.

Step 1: Entity & Seller Account

You need a registered EU or UK business entity, a VAT number, and a local bank account to complete TikTok’s KYB (Know Your Business) verification. Three routes:

  • ShopScale as Merchant of Record: We are the registered seller. You need zero EU entity. Fastest route to market, ideal for testing.
  • UK shelf company: Pre-registered Ltd, £500–1,500, ready in 1–2 weeks. Best for brands that want direct ownership on the UK market.
  • Dutch BV: €500–2,000, 2–4 weeks via notary. Best for long-term EU commitment.

Once your entity is ready: register at seller.tiktok.com and submit KYB documents. Verification takes 3–7 business days.

Step 2: List Your Hero SKU with TikTok-Native Copy

Start with 1–3 hero products, not your full catalogue. For each product:

  • Write benefit-first descriptions in plain language. Think: how would a creator describe this in a video, not how would Amazon list it.
  • Use high-quality lifestyle images, not just white-background product shots.
  • Set your affiliate commission at 12–15%. This is what creators see when they browse TikTok Shop’s Creator Marketplace. Higher commission = more creator applications.
  • Ensure your products have a GTIN/EAN barcode (required for TikTok Shop catalogue).

Step 3: Build Your Creator List (50 creators minimum)

The minimum viable creator pool for a first sampling wave is 50 creators. Less than this and you won’t have enough data to identify your top converters. Aim for 100.

Where to find them:

  • TikTok Creator Marketplace (filter by category, follower range, engagement rate)
  • Manual TikTok search for your category keywords — look for creators with the shopping bag icon on their recent videos (they’re already TikTok Shop affiliates)
  • Your existing customer base — brand advocates with small but engaged audiences often outperform big names

Who to prioritise: Mid-tier creators (10K–500K followers), category-relevant content, engagement rate above 4%, prior TikTok Shop posting history.

Step 4: Sample & Track Content Within 72 Hours of Posting

Include with every sample shipment:

  • 2–3 key product benefits in plain language (not a script)
  • 3–4 hook ideas the creator can adapt
  • Their unique affiliate link (generated in Seller Center under Affiliate → Plans)
  • Their commission rate — stating it explicitly motivates posting

Within 72 hours of a video going live, check Seller Center for: views, product page clicks, add-to-cart rate, and completed purchases. Sort by GMV generated. The creators in the top 10% by conversion rate are your gold-tier partners. Flag them immediately for deeper relationships.

Step 5: Amplify Winners with GMV Max

Take your 3–5 highest-converting creator videos and run them as GMV Max campaigns. GMV Max is TikTok’s AI-optimised shopping ad format that automatically tests your creative library and pushes budget toward whatever converts best.

Start with €50–100/day per campaign. Within 5–7 days, the algorithm will have identified the strongest performers. Scale budget on what’s working, pause what isn’t. This turns proven organic content into a scalable paid channel at a fraction of the risk of creating paid ads from scratch.

The Most Common Mistake

Most brands send samples to 10 creators, get 3 posts, see limited GMV, and conclude TikTok Shop doesn’t work. The problem is sample size. The creator model is a numbers game: statistically, 5% of creators drive 80%+ of GMV. To find your 5, you need to sample 50–100. The first wave is not a campaign — it’s a filter.

Timeline: Entity ready → first creator content live in 7–14 days → GMV Max campaigns running by week 3–4 → consistent daily sales by week 6–8 → €100K/month run-rate target by month 3–4.
